The farmhouse has been in the family of Amadeu and Caterina, the present owners, for generations.  Caterina’s grandfather spent several years in England during the Spanish Civil War, and Caterina herself spent part of her early childhood staying in England with her grandparents.   It was during his stay there that Caterina’s grandfather was shown several beautifully detailed model ships, lovingly handcrafted by his English friends.
